About the role

As a Project Engineer, you will be a part of Vaisala’s Project and Customer Services team working with varying engineering projects and developing remote services for global customers. The customer projects include planning and designing the technical features, installments, and configurations as well as organizing user training. Your daily responsibilities include working with tasks in customer projects as well as planning local area networks and finding solutions to IT security and compatibility issues.

You will work closely together with project technicians, project managers, application engineers, and the R&D team to ensure the best solutions for customers. The projects vary in size and duration and give you a great chance to learn to work in a fast-paced project environment.

Your workplace is mainly located at Vaisala’s office in Vantaa, but we hope that you are open to travel occasionally for work.

Work tasks

• Planning and implementation of weather observation solutions
• Designing and configuring Local and Wider area networks
• Developing remote services together with sales and R&D

We are looking for

• Suitable academic background (i.e. automation, IT)
• Some previous experience in LAN / WAN technologies (Cloud-based systems, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and TCP / IP protocol stack)
• Experience and interest in programming (preferably Python)

CAD drawing skills, experience in data acquisition systems, basic understanding of meteorology and additional language skills (Finnish / Spanish / Chinese) are seen as an advantage.
