About the role
You will join our friendly team to support three young men with a learning disability, living in their own apartments. You will support them to maintain and develop their independence, choices and decision making in as many areas of their daily life as possible, whilst living their lives to the fullest, doing the things they enjoys most, at home and in the community; there’s lots of variety. You will support in all aspects of daily living including personal care and medication needs.
Family relationships are important and play a key part in daily life, and support to maintain these is essential. You will be confident and resilient to support people who at times communicate through their behaviour.
Building professional relationships with the people we support, you’ll enable them to enjoy a wide range of activities at home and in the community. There’s lots of variety, to find out more about the role visit our main website.
About you
You’re considerate, committed, resilient and respect people’s differences. Empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals’ needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. You can build professional relationships and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support including evenings and weekends.
You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £60 extra per sleep-in.
Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.
