The Design Inserts department is part of the R&D function responsible for inventing and developing new and existing market leading products within metal cutting. Our team is now expanding, which is why we are looking for an Insert Design Engineer to join us!
Your mission
In this position, your main focus is to contribute to product development projects for both our new and existing products for metal cutting. Our team is responsible for turning, milling, and drilling products and we play a vital part in delivering according to our customer’s needs. Another important area is to build knowledge as a base for our future products and secure the quality of our existing portfolio.
In these projects, you collaborate in multi-functional project teams in order to succeed and meet set targets. You contribute with your experience and skills in producing CAD models and drawings for our product concepts, where you provide rules and data to enable automation of the manufacturing process. You are also an important partner to/for the production to ensure we deliver products that meet the specification. You will have the possibility to develop within this role, both through internal and external courses as well as on-the-job-training. Possible directions for your development could be automation or product application.
This position is based in Sandviken, and some international travel is required.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a relevant engineering degree such as Mechanical Engineering. Your experience includes working with CAD and product development or production technology. Knowledge of metal cutting, insert design and design automation is to your advantage. Experience using NX, Team center and YAPP is also beneficial. As we act in a global environment you need excellent communication skills in English.

Your curiosity and creativity are keys in our development of new products and securing product industrialization, and you enjoy taking on new challenges.
