AFAB (A Flygbränslehantering AB) is an aviation fuel depot at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport that stores, quality assures and distributes aviation fuel on behalf of its owners.

We are looking for an experienced and committed Managing Director (MD) for AFAB who is passionate about leadership, safety and sustainability. As MD, you will be ultimately responsible for managing the daily operations and overseeing our aviation fuel depot, while always putting safety first. You will play a central role in ensuring that all operational activities are carried out in accordance with the highest safety standards and that our employees and facilities are protected from accidents and hazards. You will take pride in delivering a service and a product that meets the toughest requirements in the market 24/7, 365 days a year.

You will lead a well-run company and a team of nine experienced and motivated employees with a very good community spirit. The company's operations fulfil a critical social function and play a crucial role in ensuring that the daily operations at the airport as a whole function without hindrance. Without safe access to aviation fuel, Arlanda stops!

Tasks:

• Is responsible, through subordinate managers and staff, for the day-to-day operation of the aviation fuel depots, including the planning, coordination, monitoring and quality assurance of the loading, unloading and storage of aviation fuel.
• Setting long- and short-term operational and economic targets for performance of the Operational team to achieve continuous improvements in the performance of the company.
• Lead and motivate your team by providing clear instructions, feedback and development .
• Ultimate responsibility for ensuring that risk assessments and safety inspections are conducted regularly to identify and address any safety deficiencies or hazards.
• Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures to continuously ensure a safe working environment for all staff and to protect facilities from damage and accidents.
• Liaise with relevant authorities, regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure that the company complies with all safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• Relevant academic background or other education and experience that we consider equivalent.
• Experience working in a strategic management team and reporting to the Board of Directors.
• Solid knowledge and/or training on safety and environmental regulations in the oil industry or equivalent.
• Experience of working in the oil industry such as depot operations and refinery or equivalent is considered an advantage.

As a person, you have a natural and strong security focus with the ability to identify risks and implement effective measures to mitigate them. You are a clear, stable and structured leader with a strong ability to manage and motivate staff. When leading an operation that is critical/vital for the day-to-day business for the whole airport as well as for the country it's important that you appear to inspire confidence, have good negotiation skills, and you have a talent for building good long-term relationships and networks with different stakeholders and authorities on every level.
