As our Payroll Manager, you will manage the provision of an efficient, confidential and accurate Payroll service for our 2250 colleagues that meets internal customer needs and ensures compliance with external requirements. Reporting into the Head of Payroll & People Services, you'll be part of our centralised Payroll & People Services team providing support to our seven factory sites and Corporate and Commercial HQ.
As Payroll Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:
Management, processing and reconciliation of monthly payroll to maintain compliance with contractual and statutory obligations and ensure accuracy to include year-end processes (P11D and P60)
Manage a proactive payroll advisory service, working closely with the payroll team, business and HR team to improve processes and procedures, including responding to enquiries from employees and stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner
Manage and develop the payroll advisor by identifying development requirements and providing/creating training opportunities
Maintain a high standard control environment with reviewing of all payroll balances with finance ensuring all payroll reconciliations are completed timely and issues resolved. Ensure accurate employee and employer pension deductions are made and remitted to statutory deadlines and legislative requirements
Utilise your payroll management expertise in;
Development, management and enhancement of Payroll processes and controls
Ensuring all statutory requirements are met including tax year-end, P11d, Class 1A, PSA
Continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls and client satisfaction
Provision of complex payroll calculations
Supporting the Head of Payroll & People Services with cross-functional business initiatives.
Understand how site information and processes feed into payroll to support improvements and efficiencies
Maintaining strong and effective relationships with external bodies including KP’s pension provider Aviva – 3rd party providers. Ensuring an effective service and manage any issues

CIPP Level 5 qualified
Payroll experience ideally within an HR function
Payroll process and control, development and review
Significant exposure to a fast-paced payroll environment including Payroll Advisory knowledge
Sound knowledge of payroll/pension statutory requirements
Extensive working knowledge of payroll systems and HR payroll applications
Experience in analysis of data and production of meaningful reports
Experience in interfaces and automation of data & input/uploads
Provide support to all audit processes, maintaining legal compliance
Experience of pensions to include auto-enrolment
Experience working in a team where they have needed to delegate and prioritise activities
