The Technical Innovation Team is looking for an highly motivated “Technical Innovation Partner“. Whilst the role is not limited to any specific technology, the focus will be offshore wind projects (bottom fixed and floating). As TI Partner you will manage a portfolio of technical innovation projects and act as an interface to our global development activities. As such you will assume responsibility to funnel our innovations into the specific projects considering its context and auction success criteria.
Your future plans
- Support the Team Lead Technical Innovation and Senior TI Partner in managing Innovation work in renewables technologies with focus on offshore wind.
- Work together with TI team to develop a business and value focused TI strategy and plan for agreed topic areas, in close cooperation with experts and key stakeholders in the business.
- Ensure implementation of innovation for offshore wind development projects: Screen our internal innovation portfolio as well as external innovations to (1) support the bidding process, (2) identify new innovation opportunities, (3) analyze innovation related funding options (e.g. pilots, demonstrators) and (4) share insights and learnings.
- Portfolio management
- Create and assess new project ideas against strategic objectives with technical experts and relevant business functions, actively seeking to share best practices and exploit synergies across the RWE Group.
- Communicate proactively and effectively within RWE, actively promoting the profile of TI and manage key stakeholders incl. higher management
- Deliver agreed part of TI project plan with regards to time, cost, quality and HSSE as well as the projects’ business cases including business implementation.
- Manage internal and external project managers and other resources, ensure reporting and provide support for project managers, where appropriate.
- In selected cases manage a TI project, i.e. taking the role as Project Manager
- Support contract negotiation and management, and close working with procurement and legal to structure contracts to ensure best value and learning for RWE.
- Support management and promotion of IP and knowhow development and protection.
Your profile: - Successfully completed university degree in engineering, economics, natural sciences or comparable
- Minimum 2-3 years working experience, ideally in offshore wind, onshore wind and/or innovation management
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and technical skills are essential to understand a broad and complex range of topics.
- Understanding of applied project management principles, processes and techniques is required.
- Interest in building and motivating strong goal-focussed networks or project teams to deliver change.
- Outstanding interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills with an ability to flex style depending on cultural differences.
- Commercial judgement that is results oriented, open-minded and able to spot possibilities in uncertain and complex environments.
- Self-directing, working independently and able to identify key priorities in new challenges and plan and prioritise work accordingly.
