This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the biggest growth areas in the energy market. This role is based in the finance team that supports RWE’s global offshore wind development business. Working in this team you will support this dynamic renewables business.
Responsibilities
Creation and administration of forecasts for the costs of Offshore wind project, maintaining a schedule of the forecast cash flow from the Investment decision to final completion
Record and monitor the financial impact of change requests and communicating outcomes and consequences with the Project Management Team
Control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and sub-contractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded
Identify and monitor financial risks and clearly present these to the Project Finance Director
Support the monthly reporting for the specific project the role supports. This can include preparation of required accruals, produce reports and detailed analysis on the resource and non-resource costs. Preparation of financial information on the project for lenders or/and shareholders as required
FX hedge monitoring and report the position to Finance Director in order to make necessary adjustments
Ensure internal controls are being adequately applied e.g Delegation of Authority for RWE investment spend , controls detailed in specific project shareholder agreements or local country specific procedures etc
Development and maintain good working relationships with all internal stakeholders as required to ensure clear visibility on the status of the tasks above to both project and line management
Qualifications (Your profile)
A degree in engineering, industrial engineering, economics, business administration with a focus on accounting/finance or a comparable qualification background
Several years of relevant work experience in a comparable role
Experience with financial topics, e.g. accounting, controlling or investment evaluation in a project environment
Knowledge and understanding of the contract(s) of the assigned packages for a renewable energy construction project or a similar large infrastructure project is essential
Excel skills at an advanced level are essential
Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems would be an advantage
English as a group language is essential, other European languages are an advantage
Qualification as a Quantity Surveyor or similar would be an advantage
Good communication and organisational skills and an entrepreneurial mindset
Ability to build and maintain relationships and networks with a variety of different stakeholders in a global and dynamic matrix organisation
