Due to the ambitious RWE growth pipeline, the O&M Design & Implementation Team is being re-structured with the creation of a second Bid Development Team (Team 2). You will lead O&M Bid Development Team 2 consisting of globally based O&M experts, focused on developing operational strategies for development projects up to securing a route-to-market. The market focus will be Germany, Nordics, Baltics, Poland, Americas. Team 2 will work closely with the existing O&M Bid Development Team 1, which has a different geographical focus. The Team Lead’s immediate focus will be team recruitment and onboarding, along with establishing working synergies & rhythm between O&M Bid Teams 1 and 2. The team lead will ensure that project O&M strategies are optimized, competitive & build on the global experience of the RWE business.
Your future plans:
- Recruitment and onboarding of team members for open vacancies within O&M Bid Development Team 2 (EU & USA)
- Develop and manage country-specific recruitment and upskilling strategy, specific to team and business O&M resource
- Establish working synergies, working rhythm, common understanding & approach to scope delivery between O&M Bid Development Teams 1 & 2.
- Internal & external stakeholder mapping & engagement strategy, to ensure successful scope delivery, along with continuous team improvement.
- Manage internal approval for the concept submissions with RWE's Senior Management
- Develop industry networks and insight into emerging technologies and solutions relevant to operations delivery to enable competitive O&M set-ups against competitors/benchmark information
- Ultimate team responsibility for the development of country & project specific O&M bid strategy
- Ultimate team responsibility for the assessment, planning, design and implementation of O&M setups for development projects, taking into account the lessons learnt from the existing operational fleet
- Provision of technical, operational, and OPEX-related due diligence as and when required
- Working with internal teams and external partners to develop the concept, cost book and key assumptions (e.g. failure rates, maintenance requirements, logistics demands etc.), to provide OPEX and revenue forecasts to development projects
- Cooperate closely with internal teams such as Marine & Logistics, Fleet Management, Partnering, Development & Construction teams, to develop and implement optimum solutions in a collaborative manner
- Managing and chairing project meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timelines are met, and all information needed to support the concepts and bids is identified and collected in a timely manner
- Identify and evaluate synergy, continuous improvement and technological innovation projects in order to make RWE's OPEX concepts competitive against the best in the market
Your profile:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrable, in-depth level of competency in negotiation technique and contract management
- Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, applicable to offshore wind projects in established markets
- Ability to identify a problem or conflict, identify potential solutions and analyze the solutions leading to a recommendation and successful close-out
- Must have an eye for detail and good reporting skills
- Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise information/ options/ decisions to senior management
- Willingness to visit offshore assets (EU)
- Willingness to spend time away from base location for project & business needs (EU/Global)
- Understanding of global electricity markets and challenges that face the renewable energy industry
- Ability to challenge work of others in an effective but sensitive manner, considering cultural differences
- Engineering degree or equivalent, with offshore wind O&M experience
