Your role
You will be a core part of the Development team helping to support our projects through the development and construction stages and will also be expected to take a dynamic and proactive role in supporting the Development Team in strategic environmental matters and consenting consultations.
The role will also work closely with the project management, project development managers, bid managers, package managers and the other environmental & consents managers within the group of specific offshore wind projects. The scope of work also encompasses cooperation with adjacent markets including Netherlands, Belgium, Germany. The role is based in Hamburg, however, travel across Germany will be required as part of the role on a regular basis and working from outside the office is possible.
Your future plans
- Close cooperation with the authorities involved in consenting and related processes, in particular the BSH and the BNetzA
- Lead on consent compliance for offshore rules and standards, collate and maintain the relevant information and liaise with statutory authorities, package managers and contractors
- Lead on ensuring consents are discharged and complied with for the development-, construction- and for the initial Operations and Maintenance phase of the project
- Responsible for securing additional environmental consents and licenses and processing consent or license amendments as necessary for e. g. construction or survey work and provide expertise into Environmental Monitoring activities during construction and operations.
- Input into strategic consultations produced by external statutory consultees or research and monitoring projects, where relevant to your specific project or market. This may include environmental impact studies via the relevant associations, e. g. German BWO in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the current environmental best practice, consenting framework and strategic opportunities.
- Develop strong working relationships across the Project to ensure consent and environmental requirements are integrated into all relevant contracts and project design and there is continual consent compliance
- Responsible for the environmental aspects of the offshore consents programme reporting, risk management, interface- and budget management
Your profile
- Completed university degree in engineering, environmental studies or comparable
- Experience with the German high Federal permitting authority BSH and other related higher Federal authorities (e.g. the BNetzA, BAM, BAW, BfN) is desirable
- Demonstrable competence in environment, consenting or related fields, with specific experience working on offshore wind
- Several years of working experience in the offshore wind sector
- Excellent project management skills and experience of managing large projects to tight deadlines
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) in German and English and ability to communicate complex technical issues to stakeholders and package managers
