Main purpose of the role
The Mechanical Engineering - Rotating and Field Service Team in Biomass Engineering and Outage provides technical expertise to the Biomass portfolio across Europe; supporting overhauls, inspections, projects, plant modifications/developments and outage planning and delivery. As part of the wider portfolio team, the Mechanical Engineer provides end-to-end support to the asset within their area of discipline. Project and task allocation will be via the Mechanical Engineering – Rotating Plant and Field Service Team Leader, in collaboration with the E&O Management Team, O&M Team and Asset Management. Although based either at Markinch. Scotland.The role is responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of projects and tasks in relation to steam turbine power trains, large pumps and large blowers/fans as well as the associated auxiliary equipment. through defining how work is done, ensuring work is technically compliant and solving technical problems.

Your Tasks and Challenges
- Implementation of consistent engineering processes and strategies to deliver portfolio performance in line with individual asset strategies
- Planning and execution of overhauls, inspections, maintenance projects, planned shutdowns, damage analyses and damage repair including monitoring of milestones, costs and budget
- Contribute to the generation and review of engineering and compliance procedures
- Responsible technical supervision of tendering processes – Including qualification of suppliers
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to efficiently plan and safely deliver outages, commission and return the plant to service in a structured and safe manner
- Assisting in planning of budgets and tracking costs as well as provide advice and guidance on operational issues
- Participation in relevant committees, working groups and projects
Your Profile
- Completed (technical) university studies in mechanical engineering or comparable degree
- Appropriate professional experience in the operation, maintenance or commissioning of power plants or comparable facilities, ideally with a focus on turbines or rotating machinery.
- Possess a very good technical knowledge of steam turbine power trains, large pumps and large blowers/fans as well as the associated auxiliary equipment.
- Flexible and agile in their approach to supporting the portfolio
- Performance orientation: self-motivated to increase performance and deliver results paired with ability to solve complex technical issues
- Willingness to work across national borders and traveling
- English to international Level B, additional language skills are beneficial
