The Distributed Markets Manager assists with ensuring that the conditions for RWE Clean Energy to operate in existing markets are known/understood, and that new opportunities for growth are identified and evaluated. Work to proactively monitor markets, program rules and changes over time. Participate in a variety of Trade Association meetings in an effort to gain insights into market status and ongoing activity. Analyze Federal, State and Local programs by reviewing draft, pending and passed legislation, identifying opportunities for improvements in program design or rules, compiling summaries and updates. Help drive strategy and project viability based on deep understanding of distributed markets and renewable project economics.

Responsibilities: 

• Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges
• Help to assess the economics of markets and projects at an early stage
• Present market insights and recommendations to management to inform strategic planning and decision-making
• Monitor and analyze market characteristics, economic indicators, and news- inclusive of revenue structures, values, and program risks, among other items
• Monitor activity with trade associations, participate in meetings, create summaries
• Work closely with Government Relations/ Regulatory Affiars to share insights, ideas, summaries and direction. Collaborate on policy initiatives to expand markets or open up new markets
• Conduct Program Reviews for understanding, highlighting structures and key risks; provide details on applicable revenues and expenses (tariff rates, RECs, PILOTs, program administration, etc.)
• Review market strategy

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 5 years related experience in renewable energy with an understanding of technologies, markets and policies
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality insights and recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Environment, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Critical reading skills, and the ability to comprehend and translate regulatory and legislative language
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $101,200 - $151,900 . The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
