Your tasks
- Manage the international Compliance practice of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, provide Compliance leadership and guidance to the Compliance department, the Compliance Officers/ Coordinators in the different regions in Europe and Australia as well as the business
- Steer and contribute to a range of multidisciplinary projects in an intercultural environment, responsibly engage with commercial and support functions as key stakeholder to deliver holistic and streamlined advice on topics such as anti-money-laundering and anti-corruption and thereby contribute to the overall business strategy
- You will closely cooperate with the compliance function of RWE Offshore Wind and manage the compliance day to day advisory work in common regions jointly
- Confidently deal with cases of suspected fraud, support investigations and respond to requests by local authorities
- Independently design, steer and maintain different types of comprehensive training, processes and other operational advice (developments of drafts, assessment of products, evaluation of transactional structures) for the international business
Your profile
- You graduated in law with distinction and you are a qualified solicitor with at least 9 years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, you graduated with distinction in another field and have significant Compliance experience.
- You are confident to lead, manage and support an international team in a fast paced environment with often changing priorities, whilst remaining a dedicated and reliable team player
- You are smart, motivated and a keen learner with an analytical mindset and a hands-on, pragmatic and pro-active commercial approach
- You like to think outside of the box, enjoy creative processes, pick up topics fast and you are fun to work with
- You see the big picture and are able to provide general context around specific topics whilst not losing focus on relevant details. You get things done and you can also work accurately under pressure whilst structuring and prioritizing work for yourself and, if necessary, for your team
- You have excellent stakeholder management abilities and you are able to build a solid network across countries and hierarchy levels. Translating complex legal topics into relevant messages is easy for you and you are comfortable to communicate across all hierarchy levels of the organization on eye-level. You do not shy away from conflict and are confident to defend your position also when challenged by senior management or the board
- You have excellent communication skills in English, both orally and written. Other languages especially German are advantageous
- Previous Compliance, public law or corporate work experience in a law firm, in-house with a bank, a utility, with a regulator or in another assurance function is an asset
