The Solid Fuels Team is part of Commercial Asset Management ('MAC') within RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST).

MAC commercially manages the Asset Fleet of RWE Power AG and RWE Generation SE and develops opportunities by connecting Generation, Trading and Grid Business, combined with Market and Regulatory expertise. Within MAC, the Solid Fuels Team has the central steering role for the supply of Hardcoal, Waste and Alternative (Solid) Fuels for the Power Plants of RWE Generation SE and RWE Power AG, as well as the marketing & disposal of ashes and gypsum produced. With our commercial and technical expertise, we conduct negotiations with customers on the supply or disposal of different kinds of waste and by-products. We are active nationally and in other European Countries.

About the role

• Negotiate delivery terms and pricing with customers.
• Collaborate on strategic decisions related to our plants.
• Ensure the secure supply and disposal processes for our plants through detailed operational planning.
• Procure hazardous and non-hazardous commercial and municipal waste.
• Manage contracts and acquire various non-fossil fuels for the RWE Power AG refinement facilities, as well as for the newly constructed mono-incineration plant in Huerth.
• Oversee commercialisation and customer management for plant-related by-products and waste, managing approximately 1 million tonnes each.

Job requirements and experience

• A successfully completed university degree in Business, Economics, or a related field (e.g. 'Betriebswirt:in').
• Expertise in managing combustible and non-combustible waste.
• Solid understanding of national and international waste management regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, particularly in B2B environments.
• A team player with a high level of self-motivation and adaptability.
• Excellent commercial acumen, with strong skills in financial planning and calculations.
• High commitment to assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Fluent in both German and English.

Advantageous, but not essential

• Experience in logistics.
• Language skills in Italian or French.
