About the job
Heading our Group Communications and Sustainability function, you ensure efficient and qualitative ways of working with communication across the Group, focusing on providing business value and establishing a strong organization, including budget and resource planning. You ensure that your team is a center of excellence and work to continuously leverage the competence across the Group. As your responsibility includes managing and developing the Sandvik brand, our common communication platforms and all Group channels and content, you also support our businesses, our multi-brand portfolio and separate brands. Part of your responsibility will be to support the communication of our shift to growth strategy, maintaining high employee engagement, a consistent tone-of-voice and an honest and trustful communication throughout all activities and channels, internal as well as external. You work with our executive management, business areas, investor relations and other parts of our decentralized organization in key projects and manage our strategic communication, company narrative and equity story. This also includes press and media relations, crisis- and change communication.
You’re responsible for the development and anchoring of designated policies, procedures and governance, as well as our overall communication strategy, direction and frameworks – ensuring that everything supports our business strategy, goals, purpose and core values. As you lead our Group Communications Management team and the Communications Council where our business areas are represented, you continuously work to develop our organization, collaboration forums, and ways of working, ensuring operational excellence, a fair brand perception and an engaging communication.

You report directly to our CEO and are part of our Group Executive Management (GEM), where you provide strategic communication advice. The location for this position is preferably Stockholm, Sweden. International travel is a natural part of your job.
Your background and characteristics
We need a senior communication professional with broad skills and solid management and leadership experience. You have an extensive background within internal and external communications, where you’ve acquired good skills and knowledge of branding, brand governance and marketing challenges – preferably at a publicly listed, international engineering company. You’re excellent at managing senior stakeholders and industry experts, supporting brand development, and engaging on all levels in a decentralized organization. Your expertise in communication channels, platforms and tools are perfect for this position and with your knowledge you’re able to leverage operational excellence and efficiency in communication – both internally and externally. We believe that your knowledge is backed by a university degree in Communication or Journalism, or you have gained the equivalent knowledge from work or other education. Acting in a truly global company calls for excellent skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
With your strategic mindset and a strong interest in leading and developing both teams and individuals, you have a good foundation for thriving in this role. You’re confident – both in your social skills and your knowledge – and you have no problem in making decisions and taking initiatives. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize your own work as well as the work of others in an efficient manner are great assets in this role. With an inclusive and honest leadership style, you steer your team towards finding innovative solutions helping us to create effective and to the point communication all over our global organization.
