Stena Line’s Manning Team based in Glasgow have a crucial part to play in this journey. They are a team of individuals focused on the efficient manning of our vessels on the Irish & North Sea, and we are currently looking for someone to join the team.

What will you do?

We are looking for a Crew Planner who will be responsible for coordinating a variety of Manning functions with an emphasis on compliance and scheduling. They are also responsible for end to end project managing specific tasks and following process planning and implementations.

Some of your key responsibilities:

• Direct liaison with temporary Crew regarding assignment, any personal issues, payroll queries or requirements
• Monitor Vessel rosters ensuring supply of temporary crew as required for the operation of the vessels
• Maintain officer scheduling for assigned fleets, ensuring compliance with charterers matrix and vessels
• Direct liaison together with Crew Planners, operations and technical departments on manning issues
• Liaison with the operations / technical departments and where applicable Senior Management and/or Clients regarding the assignment of personnel aboard company managed vessels
• Liaison with the training department to ensure officers attend training courses as required
• Participate in the on-call roster for out of hour’s coverage, offered by the Manning department
• Ensuring all employee documentation and certification requirements and ensuring the necessary compliance is maintained
• Understand the Marine Industry regulatory and certification legislation including but not limited to ISM Code, STCW and MLC 2006
• Carrying out visits to vessels on a regular basis to meet key personnel
• Identify vacancy requirements and liaising with recruitment team

You are a flexible team player with excellent communication skills, confident yet friendly and approachable and have the ability to connect with people. As a person you are mature, level headed and motivated, someone who can think on your feet in a busy operational environment.

The must-haves:

• Minimum 5 GCSE’s including Maths & English
• In depth working knowledge of STCW requirements for all departments
• Maritime background or Sea going background is required.
• Experience in a people management role or crewing role is preferred.
