We are currently recruiting Engine Ratings to join our Irish Sea engine teams. We have positions available within our Cairnryan-Belfast, Holyhead-Dublin and Fishguard-Rosslare routes. We are also looking for a number of Engine Ratings to work in fleet-based roles allowing you to use your skills to provide support on our ships across the Irish Sea while having the opportunity to develop and experience within various supportive team settings.
As an Engine Rating, you will work with planned maintenance jobs, operational duties and general maintenance of parts of the vessel managed by the Chief/ Second engineer. The job also includes cleaning, painting and greasing.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- Acting in accordance with your responsibilities in the vessel's emergency organisation.
- Carrying out engine room watch-keeping duties as directed.
- Carrying out engine room fire and safety patrols as directed.
- Assisting in the maintenance of all engine room firefighting and safety equipment as directed by the second engineer.
- Be familiar with the relevant parts, procedures and requirements of the SMS contained within the DOCMAP system.
- Take an active interest in the duties above your rank to ensure confidence in stepping up and the ability to be hands-on.
What you will experience
The role involves various working hours as the vessel runs on a 24-hour schedule. Onboard you have access to the gym, communal crew areas where you can spend time relaxing with your colleagues and fantastic food cooked by our chefs.
