What will you do as Marine Superintendent? 
As Marine Superintendent you support and advise the ship's management and the organization in the field of safety. You will do this in line with the relevant laws and regulations and in line with company regulations, promoting the Stena Line values (Care, Reliable and Welcoming). In this position you can be assigned as Company Security Officer (CSO) and Designated Person Ashore (DPA) for Stena Line's Dutch flag vessels. You are also a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Keeping track of changes and applying relevant (inter)national laws and regulations and flag dependent guidelines in the field of marine safety,
• ensuring translation into policy on the ships,
• responsible for maintaining the nautical standards on the ships,
• advising ship management on marine safety policies,
• participating in Fleet Groups meetings & sharing information to Fleet Groups,
• planning, executing, supervising and coordinating inspections, audits and RI&Es (also as contact person for the authorities),
• following up on action points resulting from the audits carried out,
• executing incident reports and following up on preventive & corrective measures,
• actively following up on near misses,
• managing the various vessel tracking systems.

Furthermore, you have/are:

• Bachelor's level of work and thinking
• knowledge of International Safety Management (ISM) and ISPS guidelines,
• extensive knowledge of nautical and technical work areas,
• experience in leading projects,
• possession of relevant operational experience within the work area,
• good knowledge of Dutch and English language,
• willingness to travel.
