People Support Advisor, HR – Holyhead

Our People Support Team are looking for a welcoming, caring and reliable Advisor / Administrator to join us. This is a varied entry level role for someone who aspires to, or wants to develop their HR career by getting involved in a wide range of people related matters. CIPD Study support and funding is available for the right candidate.
Supporting the wider Stena Line organisation across the Irish Sea region, you will be passionate about delivering a best-in-class service to your key stakeholders and fellow colleagues. Some of your key responsibilities:
- Providing first line HR advice and practical support on queries via a telephony and ticketing system. Responding to general enquiries and escalating issues when required.
- Manage the new starter process; from pre-employment and offer stage through to probation completion (includes producing offer letters, employment contracts and managing the background checking process via a third-party provider).
- Support the delivery of People objectives, taking ownership of ad hoc projects as and when directed.
- Key point of contact for all People related queries for Ports and Terminals and Ships.
- Produce employee contract change letters, liaise with managers as appropriate and undertake any follow up activities including updating the HR systems.
- Driving engagement initiatives by liaising with key stakeholders
- Support our employee relations and absence management processes by monitoring and updating information and coordinating some meetings and issuing associated correspondence; this will include contacting colleagues and line managers when required.
- Manage the leaver process including responding to resignation letters, liaising with payroll and benefits administration.
- Maintain the HR system with starters, leavers, changes, right to work checks, background checks and holiday entitlements.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to facilitate the recruitment process by providing advice and support.

Qualifications:
- A confident communicator across all formats in both a personable and professional manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy through self-review and peer checking
- Ability to prioritise and escalate where necessary
- Employee experience focused approach
- Excellent computer skills with accurate keyboard skills
- Well organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise your workload
- Competent with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and ideally Power Automate & PowerBI)
- CIPD Level 3 qualification preferable but not essential (opportunity to study within the role)
