On our 30-month apprenticeship programme you will learn the skills to become a successful Accounts Assistant with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. With the current levels of advancement in technology, there could not be a more exciting time to join us and following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role, with one of the best rental equipment providers in the industry.

On a daily basis you’ll work within our Central Support Office where you will learn to:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of accounting controls and standards
• Accurately record banking transactions
• Understand and assess records on the profit & loss statements and balance sheets
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Understand and have the ability to post journals
• Effectively deal with a variety of invoice and supplier queries
• Be skilled and knowledgeable in supporting the Assistant Management Accountants with ad-hoc tasks
• Communicate with suppliers and customers on the telephone, via email and Teams
• Engage with colleagues from across multiple areas of the organisation, expanding your team working and communication skills
• Manage a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment, learning to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive company induction, role-specific training, and apprenticeship support.  You will become a part of a larger apprentice cohort where you will be able to form lifelong relationships and engage in a wider support network.

We’ll support your personal growth and development in line with your Sunbelt Rentals career aspirations, with the potential of continuing training and qualifications after successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship Training

You will be completing a level 2 Finance/Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship Standard followed by a level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered using a combination of.

• Workplace experience to gain practical skills
• Guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor
• Industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification. This will include attending college one day per week.
• Inclusion in relevant Sunbelt Rentals training sessions to develop professional skills. This may require some travel to other business locations
