We are offering a key position in our microbiology department as a microbiologist, with flexible working hours and a working environment that you will build and shape the way you want. Our lab and offices are in Lund, easy access to public transportation.
We are in need to expand our R&D team with a microbiologist, where you will be responsible for anaerobic bacterial cultivation and developing molecular microbiological methods, while playing an important part in our developing our customized prebiotics that you will help develop together with our partners.
Anaerobic bacterial cell culture techniques (principally, not exclusively, Bifidobacterial species).
Creation and manipulation of microbiological media to assist growth of fastidious microorganisms (from culture collections and/or environmentally recovered microorganisms).
Molecular based techniques (PCR, NGS) and accompanying nucleic acid extraction techniques for microbiome-based studies.
Up to date with current trends in microbiome research.
Able to play a role as a key contact with our partners as well as with discussions with external clients.
Independent self-starter with an interdisciplinarian approach to problem solving life science issues.
Proactive and able to take ownership of work packages, as dictated by the company as well as adding value with self-defined projects relating to company activities.
Prebiotic assay techniques (identification of oligosaccharide species against bacterial growth).
Formulation of synbiotic blends with existing and novel bacterial strains.
Basic bioinformatic interpretation of NGS data for external clients and internal activities.
HPLC and Ion chromatography techniques.
Spray and freeze-drying experience.
Understanding of filtration.
Food science background/understanding.
PhD, Masters or extensive experience required.
