The main purpose of your role as Senior Build Manager is to plan, implement, control, review and audit the service provision, to meet the customers and business requirements. This includes the implementation of network build plans to achieve RFS targets, and the ongoing management of contract partners, seeking to continually and proactively improve processes, to deliver a high-quality network build, whilst adopting a “right first time” approach.

Your key responsibilities are...

  • Proactively manage and supervise build across multiple regions achieving agreed business KPIs, cost and performance targets
  • Demonstrable project delivery management experience
  • Reporting and auditing capabilities, with a completer-finisher mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to adopt a tactical approach to maintain progress to plan, without losing sight of core mission
  • Providing accurate weekly reporting on progress, risks encountered and/or forecasted, costs incurred to date, capturing work in progress (including RAID log and forecasted Cost to complete).
  • Manage the governance process around initiatives on the roadmap.
  • Identifying synergies and share best practices to drive consistency nationally.
  • Supporting build partners with correct resourcing, making sure that the programme timelines are adhered to.
  • Conducting periodic internal and external stakeholder meetings to review progress/performance.
  • Spearhead and proactively manage build across multiple regions achieving agreed business KPIs, cost and performance targets
  • Report on teams’ performance & outputs
  • The development and management of all build programme plans at the mobilisation deployment level including:
    • Build project plans
    • Regional budgets, forecasts, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Ensuring the completion of key activities by agreed milestone dates and updating the risk log.
    • Assurance metrics and quality checks

Skills & Experience Required...

          • Experience of managing fibre infrastructure build or network deployment projects within telecoms to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
          • Detailed knowledge of the methodologies, processes and capabilities required to build network infrastructure or network deployment using partners, contractors and retained teams.
          • Ability to adopt a tactical approach to maintain progress to plan, without losing sight of core mission.
          • Familiarity with contracts and performance management of same.
          • Proactive with ability to anticipate, communicate and resolve issues with minimal guidance
          • Background in Civils, including the management of noticing, trenching, and reinstatement works
          • Working knowledge of PIA, CDM, and NRSWA is essential
          • Project management qualifications e.g. Prince 2 foundation.
          • Institution of occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) – Managing Safely
          • CSCS Construction Site Supervisor Card
          • NRSWA Supervisor
